How do I check for software updates?
Software updates are reported in the notifications area on the Create ribbon in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Checks for asset or software updates can be performed manually by the user by clicking the Check for Updates button on the ribbon.
The result of asynchronous background checks for updates are presented to the user in the notifications area, so that the user’s workflow is not interrupted unexpectedly.
How will I receive software updates?
If you have deployed Create using our recommended method using the web server installation, updates to assets can be downloaded in the background and users will be prompted when these are available. If there is a software update, users will be prompted to download the updates through Create using a unique download URL; without the need for further input from IT.
For local deployment, whether there are new assets or a new software version, PS would send your IT a new zip containing the files that they would need to deploy. We will always include instructions when sending updates.
Are all updates mandatory?
Any new templates or assets will be made available as a software update and users will have a short grace period with which to accept these updates. Because updates may contain changes to legal or regulatory information, it is important that users allow these updates when they are notified.
Existing Create V8 Users
I already have Create V8 – what will happen to those documents?
Any documents produced using an earlier version of Create (V8) will need to be upgraded to work with V10 and this can be done by the user in just a few clicks with the ‘Make V10 compatible’ feature in V10.
Presentation Solutions will have upgraded any previous custom templates already available in V8 and these will be included in your release.
Can I continue using V8?
No. Any existing versions of Create V8 will need to be uninstalled before you can use Create V10.
