How does the Azure Active Directory work?

All Presentation Solutions (“PS”) web services are hosted in Microsoft Azure and communications use SSL.

Create V10 delivers files directly to the laptops and PCs of users and utilises the enhanced security via Azure Active Directory account (Office 365).

Users are asked to log in with their Active Directory ID when first accessing the cloud features or checking for updates and again if they do not use Create for an extended period.

How do users authenticate to the Active Directory?

Create diverts users to Microsoft’s own authentication platform and receives an authentication token which is used to authenticate the user against the Presentation Solution’s cloud. The token is then stored encrypted on the user’s device to prevent the need to log in every time.

Users of Create are able to download and view assets. These assets may have been uploaded by Presentation Solutions or the client if permissions have been granted to do so.

What are the assets?

Assets include company-approved templates and layouts in PowerPoint, Word and Excel, custom media such as photography and line art, and XML files.

Where are the assets stored?

Files are stored securely in Azure and downloaded/uploaded over SSL. The client will have a unique container within the storage account. Metadata describing the assets, including the URL, are contained in a SQL Server database that is only accessible by the client.

Where are the Cloud servers located?

The Microsoft Azure Cloud servers are located in the Netherlands. For additional information, click here to view the ‘Create V10 Schematic’ document, which shows how the PS Infrastructure is set up.
