PowerPoint - Adding Section Trackers

The Agenda/Table of Contents (TOC) slide lists the main topics in the presentation. It usually appears after the cover slide and can display either the titles on the section and appendix divider slides and/or the slide titles. Subsection titles are optional and can be added to the section and appendix divider slides and included in the Agenda/TOC. Hyperlinks can be included to help navigate through the presentation.

Update the agenda by selecting Update, Agenda/TOC in the Linking group on the Create ribbon.

A section tracker displays the section or appendix title in the header of the slide within the current section (single section tracker) or all sections within a document with hyperlinks (section tracker bar).

Select AutoText on the Create ribbon.

The Text task pane opens at the AutoText panel.

Single Section Tracker

A single section tracker displays the current section title on all the slides in the section.

Select Add single.

Section Tracker Bar

A section tracker bar displays all the section and appendix titles on every slide and highlights the active section/appendix. The section tracker bar is hyperlinked for easy navigation through the presentation.

Select Add bar.

If any of the titles are too long for the section tracker bar, use the Edit current section function to reduce the title in the bar only, not on the section or appendix divider slide.
