PowerPoint - Inserting a Layout

Modified on Thu, 24 Sep at 10:44 AM

Use Create to insert slides (“layouts”) in your presentation rather than native PowerPoint. Any content you insert from Create will be formatted according to your company’s branding.

The layouts will be specific to the template in which you are working and will have been either built in to the Create software or uploaded by designated authors within your organisation.

Inserting a Layout

Select Layouts on the ribbon or side bar to insert a new slide layout.

The Layouts task pane opens at the Slide Layouts panel.

  • You can change views by clicking the list or thumbnail icons on the top right.
  • Layouts are filed into folders – as shown here.
  • In list view, select Expand all, to expand the folders and see all the layouts, or click the + on an individual folder to only expand that one.
  • Search for a particular layout or key word tag by typing the name and selecting the magnifying icon. For more information, see Article: Uploading Layouts

  • If a layout has been uploaded by an author in your organisation, the author’s email address will be displayed in the information panel at the bottom of the task pane.

Double-click on the slide layout to insert it or select it and click Apply.

Quick Slides

This function gives access to the most frequently used slide layouts. The standard options available are 1 Up, 2 Up and 4 Up. However, these can be customised on request.

  • Go to the location where you want to insert the new slide (the slide will appear after the currently selected slide).
  • From the Quick Slides group, select the required slide layout.
